  Dear Volunteers.

  Posted on http://www.eldy.eu/help/ you can find an .odt and a .pdf version of our User's Manual. You can download them on your computer and search for mistakes.

  If you download .odt version you will be able to edit and return it to us.

  Just to let the community at large know. David Baxter and myself are currently working on the manual so anyone interested in giving a hand please contact us first so we can let you know where we are at.

  The manual is being divided into two parts:

  1 Eldy Helper's Manual
  Detailing more technical information, as well as set-up, configuration and installation instructions.
  Targeted mainly at mentors/Teachers/System Administrators.

  2 Eldy User's Manual
  Focuses only on documenting the Eldy user interface and how to use it.
  Targeted at the Eldy end user.

  We are currently finalising the first draft of the Eldy Helper's Manual and will hopefully be publishing it here in the next few days

  Ok so here is our first public version of the Eldy Helpers Manual.
  I can't upload the files to Eldy.net as they are two large so I'm temporarily hosting them on my server. Can somebody email me or private message me with a better long term solution.

  Note that Eldy creates a unique user account name, also the chat id, from the surname

  When I registered, Eldy made my first name the chat name … or is this another example of we English speakers being seperated by a common language?

  Simon is a volunteer like you and me. If you have questions you can't answer yourself then please either post them for other volunteers to see, or message Enrico/Emi.
  We're all working towards the same thing so no need to direct your questions only at one person!

  The chat name is created from the first name, you should amend this to suit. I will give the manual a more thorough looking over in the next couple of weeks.

  First up, Thom, Sorry, I miss read your question, you are correct, that should read first Name. I thought your question was concerning the use of the words account name and chat ID.

  Which, incidentally, brings me to my second point I think (as of Eldy2.2) Chat ID actually referred to as chat username, which is why I mentioned I needed to check the Language file.
  But you are correct, Matt, Simon isn’t the only one involved in the new language file so I address this question to anyone closely familiar with the language file including yourself.

  I would suggest 1.4.1, the only difference is I fixed the layout of page 13

  And a question to everyone I'm getting some request's to switch to Google Docs, What is the general consensus on this issue?

  I know Matt set up a nice Google Docs log file for the Language file development. Would something like that be useful?
