  Weblinks – Slovenian (10 posts)

  please suggest a list of relevant websites to be around "bookmarks" in "walk in internet.

  we are looking for 10 links, two of which might be Eldy.eu and Google.com or another search engine.

  Make these links to be relevant, various (e.g. sport, fun, health, travels, cooking etc), and local.
  When we have 10, we plan a multi page (like in the italian version) portal.

  Please try to avoid any commercial website – information need to be free for users.

  ps keep in mind we can change this from your suggestions also very often, if required

  Eldy.eu would be nice but in the future should be translated into Slovene. I would also agree with Gregor that the page ZDUS (Union of Retiree Associations of Slovenia) politically influenced , but it is the only one we've got. In my opinion the majority of users of Eldy are senior citizens therefore retirees and the link might still be useful.

  I agree for sure, that also eldy.eu should be one of the links, but we should provide slovenian translation of at least first page then, because not many older people know english (more of them speaks german). I also ask some friends, who work with elder population, to think of some pages, that might be interesting for them, so I suggest we wait with final decision fo a day or 2. Deadline is 14th?
  Regarding to translations, in ver.2.2 there is some weather forcast included, but I can't find it – is it for specific areas only?

  Yes I think that a day or two wont matter. The deadline is the 14th that's on Monday. I hope that members of the Eldy crew also agree that we send the final list of links on Monday. I think that the question regarding weather is for Martina or someone else from the Eldy crew.

  That's correct! Weather forecast is included only for local area (Italy). Instead of that application in 2.2 there should be another interesting application!
  You can send us the final list on monday, then we will work on that for the release! no problem!

  As far as religious content is concerned I concur taht it should stay out. You could find a religious hot head that will say that we are even breaking the law regarding equality of religion. So beside having a catholic page we would need a orthodox page, a islamic page and so forth.
  For price comparison I think that mimovreste.com would be better, but then again I'm not sure that the elderly will use it. Although my father (over 80) has already purchased some things from Ebay (with some help from me ).
  A link to one of the major newspapers on-line would probably be better. So my proposals are:

  newspapers with the largest circulation in Slovenia. Although we already have purposed two news portals 24ur.com and rtvslo.si but both of them are spin offs of TV channels.

  I agree completly about not-havine religious link. About including dnevnik.si or delo.si I am not really sure: at least for dnevnik.si I can say, that there's not much useful articles on (unregistered user) and all those things are already covered in 24ur.com and rtvslo.si. Perhaps we add http://www.delo.si as well (and not dnevnik.si) anyway, for it has more informations and articles published.

  Perhaps some more "medical" portals (for example http://vizita.si/) in addition to med.over.net would be useful I guess.

  For searching for products, a price-compare page would be optimal I guess: if we give link to direct store (like mimovrste.com, enaa.com …) it's free commercial for such page, which I don't see a good idea …

  The goverment site I also don't think much will take a look into daily (which is a basis for choosing links for the first page – if someone will need this link once a year, it's no need for it on the first page). Perhaps a good idea would also be adding one (best) english and 1 german main newspaper (for most of older people speaks german, not english)?

  p.s. What about links for Eldy.tv? There is also videostreaming on both poptv and rtvslo I guess and those can be added there as well.

  Well, I think that's quite it – for this time I suggest we put wikipedia.si on 10th button (instead of eldy.eu) for so long, that we prepare slovenian main page of eldy (if this is acceptable for eldy group) – because for most older population here english language is unuseful.

  p.s. I have one other suggestion (for windows app – I don't know if it's the same on Linux, I guess so): I would suggest removing "Exit" button from main screen to "Help" submeni, because many of people, whom I talked to previous week and were testing eldy translation had problems in the beginning for they want to exit sub-page (go to square) and they wanted to do it with "Exit" button …
