The problem exists on the windows version. I've installed it on linux and it doesn't happen.
It should be fixed anyway! -

Can I help with bringing support for Greek Character sets in the mail display and to the address book?
When receiving email that are not marked with UTF-8 they appear gibberish. The address book doesn't support UTF-8 as it says in bug #5 -
