Dear All,

We are working to finalize the ELDY 2.4 beta for Eldy.net, that will contain
- refined email visualization
- addon for poor connectivity situations (timout, session control etc)
- new languages file and translations (e.g. Portuguese )
- after this we are ready to shift to the new architecture (fully utf-8) that will allow Eldy to save symbols and chars in all languages.

this latter will be a major step for plenty of you.

Secondly, we’ re finalizing my.Eldy.com , a system that will allow to benefit the full net-centric nature of Eldy architecture.. wait and see!

Hello Thom, Eldy works on ubuntu linux. No problem at home ; in most public places, you need to install a tunnel : this is easy to do, but you need to change parameters for each public place and often you will not get the right parameters. Yet, this is not specific to linux versions.
Anyway, ELDY LINUX on usb key and can be used at home and in nursing homes…
You need to upload My Eldy virtual machine and to clone the disk image to a 4GB Usb key (disk image is bootable). Thus, Eldy will be pre-installed on the key, not on on the disk !
You can download either the virtual machine (vmware .ova file) or the disk image from http://dl.free.fr/ZpVGGA/Eldy_linux_fr
Disk image will be online to-morrows
(caution : 1,5GB downloads – download link is available for 30 days, files are deleted when there is no download in a 30 days period). Eldy is a standard install and includes US language ; ubuntu includes only french language, but you can replace the default language and download other language packs. Don’t keep both languages on a 4GB udb key (or use a larger key).

Eldy works with what versions of Linux? It does NOT work with Puppy Linux. Can any of the working Eldy/Linux combinations be either a Live-CD or Bootable USB that does NOT include a desktop link to install Eldy on the Hard Drive?

Intended use os to demonstate Eldy in such a manner that it does NOT have to be installed on the system hard drive.
